8gb of ram will be sufficient for the //vast majority of games...
Don't make the mistake of getting 4 though.

About the build that you posted, I would definitely upgrade the power supply. 430W isn't really enough to run a 660 I think.

Yea I should change that.

Edit: on second thought I think it will be fine, the estimated wattage is only 324w and I'm not going to be overclocking. I may change if there is a good sale though. Edit 2: after some research I decided to change it to 500w thx

Ok I'll help you make a list of parts, but I know nothing about mice and keyboards, and very little about monitors. So figure out exactly what you want for those (I'm assuming the ones on your list)
Because that will affect how much money is left over for the parts.

I'll just post my usual questions here:
What is your budget?
Does this price include the mouse, keyboard, speakers, and monitor?
Are you going to be doing video editing, if so what program are you going to use? (this affects which graphics card will be more beneficial.)
(Sony Vegas = Nvidia, Adobe Premier = AMD, else = not sure)
Do you need wifi on this machine or are you able to use ethernet?
Preference between Windows 7 or 8.1?
(8 is faster and overall just better in this scenario, you can just get a really good start button add on for $5, I have one)http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/
Do you want an SSD and a Hard drive or just a hard drive?
(SSD is flash memory, like USB sticks and iPhones have)
SSDs will make games and windows load faster, this way you can have speed for that stuff and lots of storage for recording and stuff.
Just using a HD is fine though.
