Fence Post Use for Eating

I see many people using the fence post as a glitch for eating while running. I find this very cheap, and i was just wondering if this is legal. Is this just a glitch or is it a permanent thing? And if it is a glitch, is it allowed or is it possible to be banned/kicked if you do it. I certainly will not be doing it.

The saturation problem was fixed.

The glitch is allowed, because it's a Minecraft Bug, therefore, it's not punishable.
