This sounds like my mum, if I stay up late like past 10pm I'm banned for a week. Simple little things tip her over even when i do things right, I'd like to move to my dads who's more relaxed (I was there for the past week and a half, it was bliss). So I somewhat feel you.

Stricter parents? Aha. One of my friends got her nose pierced, her mums like 'oh, cool' her dad 'wtf is wrong with you *starts giving massiveness owning why it's so bad*.

When I mean my dad is more relaxed I mean, I took my laptop to his house (3hour plane ride) and I could play from like after dinner (7-8pm) til 2-3am if I wanted. He gave me his explanation, it was something along the lines of 'letting people do what, allows them to build trust in you' something like that, aha. However, it did work I wasn't mad at him at all, no fights, nothing compared to what I have with mum.
