Faster Hunger Loss

I have been playing lately and recently I noticed that my hunger bars were disappearing a lot more quickly. Due to the fact that a large amount of the MCSG servers were down this morning, I asked a moderator what the cause of it was. He told me it was because of a new update.
So there was an update, and it appears that my hunger is dropping more quickly. Coincidence? I don't think so
I really don't like the idea of faster hunger loss because it ruins battles. Say you were in an intense fight with someone when you suddenly realize you only have six bars of hunger left. If your opponent has the upper hand you obviously will have no time to eat. I have already found myself in this situation three times since I played with the faster hunger loss.
Obviously, you want the actual hunger of the hunger games. But that can easily be solved by adding less food to the tier one chests. Both pursuing a player and running away from an opponent is interrupted frequently by you realizing you have only half hunger. This update forces players to look in more chests instead of hunting down other people causing a game that has less action and entertainment.
If this was simply a glitch (though I doubt it, because my friends were experiencing it), then I guess this thread is meaningless. But if this is due to the update, please change the Survival Games hunger loss back to the way it was.

There is a bizillion other threads about it.
Since the new update they changed the code from 1.6 to 1.7 ( As they have dropped support for 1.6 for EU, US and AS)

In the 1.7 update mojang changed how saturation works, which results in it draining way more quickly than it used to be.
MCSG is aware of the issue and is working on a fix for it already.

The faster hunger has nothing at all to do with MCSG or their servers hahaha It's easy to assume that it would be the case but in actual fact it's Mojang who had made this tweak. They've tweeted this morning that they are going to roll back the changes because obviously alot of us (including myself) aren't big fans of dying due to a constant depletion of hunger levels.
