Hey guys,
So I am in the process of making an mcsg map but I need members from mcsg and builders/map creators to give me tips because when I ask ingame they all ignore me ;/
So answering the following questions would help a bunch!

1) What's Your Favorite Map (Why)
2) What features do you like on maps?
3) What features in maps don't you like?
4) What's your best tip for creating a map
5) Any other information you want to tell me
6) What type of maps do you like best water,Forest,Jungle,Flat ones (Icarus moon base etc) or large ones with mountains and shiz!

THANKYOU for reading this thread I read and like all entries that people post it means alot and keeps me entertained! ILYSM <333

All I can say is do whatever you want to do! It's your own ideas that make you original! So what if it's not what everybody wants! Originality is great quality. So my answer is, DO WHATEVER YOU WANNA DO!!!

1) What's Your Favorite Map (Why) Avaricia or Holiday Resort. Lots of fun gameplay. It's not just a few hotspots, where if you get there first or with a weapon you win - anyone can win, as long as they play it right even if they don't get their route. Also, once you have decent gear the hunting is easy enough. You don't have to run to one place, back to corn, another place, backtrack to somewhere else, etc., it's pretty straightforwards.
2) What features do you like on maps? A cornucopia that's easy to place FnS in.
3) What features in maps don't you like? Tall grass in Corn, unfair "hotspots", bad terrain (Ex: you have to climb a single mountain for like 3 minutes just to resume your route. Avaricia has this but I don't have to deal with it often.)
4) What's your best tip for creating a map: idk. Use worldedit, voxelsniper, and get friends to help.
5) Any other information you want to tell me: Get people to test it, and get their feedback. Not just random players, but actual people that know what they're doing, like forumers and well-known players.
6) What type of maps do you like best water,Forest,Jungle,Flat ones (Icarus moon base etc) or large ones with mountains and shiz!: Forest is nice, but the grass gets annoying, flat ones are good but often to get a map you need terraforming. Mountains are amazing looking often but sometimes bad for gameplay, where a person with just their fist can KO someone with full iron diamond sword :/

:) You're welcome, but also another tip is to quote multiple posts in one post, or use the Edit button. Double Posting is usually against the rules, so try not to do it too much, pls and thnx :3

1. Icarus or Fortress Pyke. Icarus because of the unique and fun gameplay. Fortress Pyke because it contains all aspects of a map. It has hills, water, flat areas, close corridors, traps. You name it, it probably has it.
2. Creativity/uniqueness
3. Ragged features such as lots of stackable snow or too many slabs.
4. Make it unique, but pvp oriented
5. Make sure to have most aspects of "terrain." Try using other maps for inspiration. Don't copy, just look at other maps to help you come up with ideas. Also, make the cornucopia look nice. That's there first thing people see and you always want your first impression to be the best.
6. Medium sized maps with a theme that hasn't been done yet. Use your imagination :)

1) What's Your Favorite Map (Why) Teweran SG2, no idea. Probably because i have a good chest route. Lots of detail as well. It could very well be because the terrain is good for pvping
2) What features do you like on maps? Variations on biomes with hotspots specific to them.
3) What features in maps don't you like? Vines
4) What's your best tip for creating a map: Don't make a multibiome (can be done well, Wyvern's Wake for example), vanilla terrain, or flatland.
5) Any other information you want to tell me: hi
6) What type of maps do you like best water,Forest,Jungle,Flat ones (Icarus moon base etc) or large ones with mountains and shiz! huge waterfalls with a double arch stopping in the middle of it. Like the letter m.

Is this in the right place?o_O
But anyway, I just wanted to give my opinions:
Firstly, I like the maps that aren't too small or too big, because the games last a good length. I could list my favs, but to be honest they have nothing in common:)
Make sure that you spread the chests out equally and, like people have already mentioned, make sure that there isn't one route everyone will take.
Also, try and come up with a new theme! Try to be unique, try out block combinations you haven't tried before Tec
Hope I helped :)
