I have a suggestion for this forum

(Feature ideas is under SG categories so I don't know where to post this, sorry if it's in the wrong board)

Have something I liked to call a gameshow, it's basically like a massive contest. I am currently on another forum where I'm hosting a gameshow, and about 45 users signed up for it and it's underway and going great.

The gameshow may go on for 2+ weeks.

Incase you're unclear on gameshow ideas, it could be something like this:
-2 teams compete in challenge, winning team is safe, losing team has to vote off one member. It later goes into a solo comp to make it even throughout.
Of course, it's not only restricted to that, there are many other ideas you can come up with.

Now, each member that signed up would be assigned with a special rank where they can see gameshow boards. The gameshow then commences and goes on until someone wins. The winner would get some cool prizes.

Gameshows take a lot of time and you need to be prepared, that's why you should have multiple hosts, but I think this forum could use some more fun and this would be a great addition (imo).

I'm fine with constructive criticism, but not a "bad idea this sux".

I've seen several such attempts at signup forum games, and only a few have made it to the actual game successfully.

Downvoted on the grounds that this would be too hard to organize on a forum this massive.

Here's a suggestion: make a FORUM SUGGESTIONS board. That's a cliche "Duh!" moment right there.

Gameshows rock, but I don't know how it would work here :s

Create a planning board, then when that's done, create boards for the actual gameshow and membergroups. It would be best if someone that had these powers would host one.

I disagree. If a simple idea for a gameshow was made (like the first one I said) it wouldn't be a hassle, although it would still require some work.

And yes, they do need a forum suggestions board. haha

It would be a good idea for a more informally run forum that could adapt to temporary massive changes such as the addition of new membergroups and boards as suggested by Mat . The MCG forum, though it doesn't look like it to some, is actually a forum promoting a business (if you thought the MCG network was non-profit, you thought wrong) and thus is not adaptable enough to allow something like this without it being specifically Survival Games related and without there being any everlasting consequences to the health and activity of the forum community.

Back to the subject at hand, game shows typically don't work on forums. What you're suggesting sounds more like a roleplay which MCGamer doesn't offer (though the Hive does). In conclusion, unless we're envisioning two entirely different events, I can't see any gameshow thread or event going far on this forum.

What type of things would you do as a part of the game show? Just curious as to what kind of ideas you have.

And Feature Suggestions is used for any kind of suggestion, this would be fine there.
