Pokemon! And for the sake of it the lyrics! :D
Pokémon theme
I will be the very best
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause
I will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
Each pokémon, to understand
The power that's inside
Pokémon It's you and me
I know it's my destiny
Pokémon
Oh, you're my best friend
In a world we must defend
Pokémon A heart so true
Our courage will pull us through
You teach me and i'll teach you
Pokémon
Gotta catch 'em all Every challenge along the way
( From: http://www.elyrics.net )

With courage i will face
I will battle everyday
To claim my rightful place
Come with me, the time is right
There's no better team
Arm and arm, we'll win the fight
It's always been our dream.
Pokémon It's you and me
I know it's my destiny
Pokémon
Oh, you're my best friend
In a world we must defend
Pokémon A heart so true
Our courage will pull us through
You teach me and i'll teach you
Pokémon
Gotta catch 'em all

Honestly, I have way too many favorites. It's my #2 Hobby, second only to Minecraft.
WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS.
Do not read the long paragraphs if you don't want to see the spoiler(s). I'll put the anime names in bold.

  1. First of all, SAO, or Sword Art Online: Set in the near future, virtual reality is just that - a reality! People can put on something called "Nerve Gear" and "Dive" into the virtual world. Up until the release of the game "Sword Art Online" by the same developer of Nerve Gear, it had been used mainly as a work device. SAO Changed all that, and was insanely popular. An MMORPG without magic, it was not only interestingly designed and made, but the players would see not a screen, but the landscaping around them! Monsters would hit their body, they can talk with players directly... The popularity of the game was crazy. But to "Avoid server lag" and due to "high server costs" it was limited to 2,000 Beta Players, and 10,000 total players, our main character being among the Beta Players. On the first day of the official release, the creator of SAO and NerveGear announces that players cannot log out, and will die in the real world, if they die in-game... even once. Removing the Gear externally is not possible, because it will emit an electric pulse, frying the brain. OH SNAP I JUST FOUND SOMETHING: On December 31, 2013, there'll be a bonus edition of SAO! WOAH! YESS!!! :DDD
  2. Katekyō Hitman Reborn!: One of the first animes I watched all the way through. Really, it wasn't particularly special except that it was funny seeing the main character fail so often, and I had watched very few animes at the time. It has like 203 episodes, (and ~350 chapters I think) but by the time I reached episode 150 or so, I had to wait each week for the next one to come out. There is a LOT of filler episodes, so if you don't like those then don't watch it. But a bit about the storyline: A student who gets virtually the worst grades in history gets a tutor.... that looks like a baby in a suit! (BTW, Title means "Home Tutor Hitman Reborn", Reborn = Tutor's name.) The tutor turns out to be super smart, famous, and one of the best hitmen in the world, if not the best. He reveals that the main character, Tsuna, is next-in-line to be the head of the "Vongola", the #1 mafia in the world (or Italy. Don't remember which, but basically it means that the Vongola have the most subordinate mafias and power.)
  3. Code Geass: Oh wait no, I didn't like this anime. Did I? I forget. It was a long time ago. Oh, warning - There was a tiny bit of ecchi in it, so make sure you skip those parts. Overall, I'd have to say the anime was quite interesting. Mecha-themed, there was also parts of mind-control (The main character's power). Definitely a popular anime, but I'd recommend it only to people 15+ (Y'all below 18, make sure to skip those bad parts.)
  4. Attack on Titan - Ohhh boy. This anime. My goodness. It's unique, scary, and amazing. The art is a tiny bit different from what I normally see, but it was definitely something that benefitted the anime. I haven't read the manga, despite multiple recommendations to do so. Humanity has been forced into a tiny area by giant skinless humanoids called 'Titans'. Their supposedly impenetrable walls are broken through, and Titans once more oppress the humans.
  5. Gurren Lagann - No spoilers, safe to read this one. - Often referred to as TTGL, or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, it's one of the most famous Mecha animes out there. The art is old-school-ish, making me really reluctant to watch it, but... I gotta say, this was an amazing anime. Definitely worth watching. I've read a lot of reviews about it that say it was heart-wrenching, suspenseful, and... too many good reviews, my goodness. The review-o-meter is topping off and trying to go around in another circle! I won't say anything about the plot, I'll leave you to watch it.
I have way more favorite animes than this, but it'd take way too long to write them all, so I'll leave it at 5.
Also, some of them aren't safe to write without getting virtually punched in the face and targeted by anyone that reads this thread and has watched those animes.
Just an FYI: My 12 year old sister watched Reborn, it's fine for slightly younger kids (I think)
My personal recommendations: (Not including any animes that I didn't put in the list of 5)
For younger kids: Reborn
Young Teenagers: SAO, Attack on Titan, Gurren Lagann, Reborn
Older Teenagers: SAO, Gurren Lagann, Attack on Titan, Code Geass

Genres/Topics:
SAO: MMORPG, fantasy, alternate world
Attack on Titan: Fantasy, Alternate world, (very) bloody, tiny bit of mecha (The stuff they use to fight Titans.)

Reborn: Comedy, tiny bit of romance, uh... I would say fighting, but there's so many filler episodes where they do nothing related to that.
Gurren Lagann: Mecha. It's like the mother of all mechas (Someone actually said that, lol. But seriously, if you go on some forum and ask for a mecha anime, you'll get this one 10/10 times, as long as the responses aren't by inexperienced mecha-watchers.) Oh, also alternate world.
Code Geass: Mecha, mind-control, Futuristic, alternate world

I just realized how long this is.... cya :p PM me if you're looking for different genres, and I'll see what I can do. I've watched a lot.

Pokemon. The French show Code Lyoko is anime-ish, so I'll put that too.

Steins Gate, Attack on Titan, and Death Note are 3 animes I really like.

(This is a great thread idea, I added info., and it's still relevant, so it shouldn't be locked)
