I've been wanting to use dxtory, but I use Fraps.
Fraps doesn't really lag for me.
I record with a x512 texture pack in 720p to a dedicated recording hard drive. So that's probably why it doesn't lag.
I have noticed the sound quality not being the greatest though. But it's not terrible.

Yes , that's what I have been thinking. But I don't really lag so much. I mean I only dedicated 2 Gigabyte for Minecraft and it runs perfectly with any recording software.

You can just press F3 once in a while , whenever you think.

Go to the movies tab in the FRAPS menu, and find the section where it says FPS. You can set it to one of the presets, or make a custom cap. I use 45 fps because it's good for my computer.

I use the paid version of Bandicam because I used to record on a laptop. I would probably use fraps now that I have my new PC but I have no problems with Bandicam - it's been great so far

I use Dxtory, I believe it's better than Fraps. It's like $30, not that expensive.

I'm an aspiring MCSG Youtuber, and I've been wanting to record more. With the holidays coming up, I've been wanting to get a nice recording software. Right now I have the free version of Bandicam, but it can only record for up to ten minutes and it has an ugly label on the top. Any recommendations?

TL;DR I'm looking for a nice, probably paid recording software.

'Camstasia' is a great recording and editing recorder and is easy to use.
You can trial it out first if you want to test it out before buying it.
