Watched threads are just things you've posted in so you can keep track of your stuff I believe.

Like Claps said, a watched thread is just a thread you posted in. When someone new posts in a thread you watch, you'll get an alert. You're fine.

Yep. It's just so you can get notifications from future posts in threads you posted in. On the top right hand side of the first post, there is an "unwatch thread" button. Feel free to click that.
