As often in MCSG, you will face players with higher tiers of armor and swords. Here I will list what you should try to do. I do not often use these tactics as I often fly at them and attempt to kill :3
You should run away as fast as you can.
Then, lead them into lava, fire, water, vines, walls, buildings, and other distractions where in the chaos ensuing, you can escape.
My favorite tactic is leading them into a team. They then fight the team and you can wait until the fight is over.
Hide on top of ladders and trees so you can hit them off and heavily damage them.
Get on the corn. You can shoot your opponent with bows and arrows and snatch loot. Most maps do not let you get on the corn however.
Always run from a hacker. If you know someone hacks, run like those dudes in Die Hard, don't stop. They can and will beat you.
Never attack head on in a corner. Try to "flip" around them and hit from behind. This one is AWESOME for me because I'm a ninja at the keyboard.
Fishing rods can be used to hit them, and then run. It will slow them down a little, but its worth it.
Use the terrain. I know I have mentioned this, but use it as much as possible to slow them down, crush em to the ground.
Listen to dubstep to raise adrenaline levels
