New to town with a made up name in the angel city,
Chasing fortune and fame.
And the camera flashes, make it look like a dream.
You had it figured out since you were in school.
Everybody loves pretty, everybody loves cool.
So overnight you look like a sixties’ queen.
Another name goes up in lights, like diamonds in the sky.
And they’ll tell you now, you’re the lucky one.
Yeah, they’ll tell you now, you’re the lucky one.
But can you tell me now, you’re the lucky one?
Now it’s big black cars, and Riviera views,
And your lover in the foyer doesn't even know you
And your secrets end up splashed on the news front page.
And they tell you that you’re lucky.
But you’re so confused,
Cause you don’t feel pretty, you just feel used.
And all the young things line up to take your place.
Another name goes up in lights. You wonder if you’ll make it out alive.
And they’ll tell you now, you’re the lucky one.
Yeah, they’ll tell you now, you’re the lucky one.
Can you tell me now, you’re the lucky one?
It was a few years later, I showed up here.
And they still tell the legend of how you disappeared,
How you took the money and your dignity, and got the hell out.
They say you bought a bunch of land somewhere,
Chose the Rose Garden over Madison Square,
And it took some time, but I understand it now.
‘Cause now my name is up in lights, but I think you got it right,
Let me tell you now, you’re the lucky one.

I am actually so obsessed with this song, it's so true. Taylor's lyrics are so beautiful, true and out-right amazing. Her songwriting, I am seriously lost for words. This probably doesn't need to be a thread Scratch that, the world needs more Taylor. And yes, this song ISN'T ABOUT LOVE. Surprised? Well I could list all the songs she's written that isn't about love but since you're probably hating on Taylor if you're saying that I can't be bothered.
So, I've been looking at all of the Tay-hate. And you know what? I think it's bull-crap. Taylor hasn't dated anyone in a year, and all those songs? None of them released are about Harry Styles. Taylor never dated Ed Sheeran or Zac Efron. She says she falls into love to fast and then it hits a wall and explodes. And that is the love she calls Red. She doesn't do it to write more songs or make more albums. It's just her looking for love, she's 23 (24 on Dec 13th! EEEEEE) and growing up, and maturing in a sensible way (unlike SOMEBODY). She is barely what everyone calls her. She thinks love is beautiful, and one of her favourite things in life. She's so genuine, so grounded. So successful, that she shouldn't be hated on. Heck, all those celebrities (even Rebecca Black) are more successful than their haters. But it's in human nature, of course.
Now, Taylor doesn't wear revealing clothes, doesn't write songs about things inappropriate for younger people in her Swiftie fan-base. Her music doesn't sound all the same, and gives out a beautiful message. Check out, Fearless and Speak Now. Look at her concerts. She breaks it down to just a guitar and her. She has her staff pick out people for meet and greets after the concerts and has been named the Most Charitable Celebrity of 2012. Her words are beautiful, she's beautiful and her cat is adorable. She can actually sing (I went to her Speak Now concert, I ASSURE you she can).
Taylor is one of the most perfect human beings I've ever seen. From what I've seen, she's really a nice person and really funny too <3 I love her to bits, even though I've never met her. Honestly, haters shouldn't be hating, they've probably never met her and the media always exaggerates things -.-
I love you Taylor. Thanks for being such an inspiration for me, for being a great role model and always staying true to yourself.
Lesson of the Day (LOTD)- DON'T HATE ON THE CELEBRITIES. Sure, they're music or clothes might not be your style, but worked hard to get where they are. They're winning grammies, making friends everyday, they have millions of fans.
AND THIS NEEDS TO BE A FREAKING THREAD, DON'T SAY IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE. And here is an amazing performance from Taylor , Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, Sam Bush and Eric Darken at the CMAs. It's beautiful, flawless and amazing. Watch it.
