ok so I have one problem. When I record my games it will look fine on my computer windows 8 but then i put it into movie maker and when it is done processing the video is grainy and a mess. Any help would be appreciated!

Use a program other than Window's Movie Maker. That program is horrible. It compresses a video by lowering the quality of video.

Yes, like Lively said, use something else like Sony Vegas.

thanks for the help. i didn't realize that the program compressed the videos, i thought it was some setting i had messed up. I'll check out some other programs and hopefully find one i like.

As said previously, Camtasia Studio is the editing software that I use. It works really well for me, and I have few complaints. There is even a screen recorder that comes with the program, but I've only used it once. I still prefer Fraps to record, but Camtasia is good for selecting portions of a screen to record instead of the entire thing.

With Camtasia, you can import a video and edit it, then select "Produce and Share" in your toolbar. There, you can select the quality that you want to render in. I often select 720p as the rendering is quite efficient at that quality. Overall, fantastic program.

I've heard good things about Sony Vegas, but I've never used it myself.
