Should Optifine be banned?

while playing survival games I have found that allot of players have been using the optifine zoom feature to scout players at a distance, is this unfair for players who don't have optifine ? I personally feel that it is a hack giving people unfair advantages

Although this may seem like a problem, the optifine zoom does not give as great of advantage as you may think because:

1. You can still only see players as far as your render distance or as far as the servers render distance allows.
2. Zooming in does not increase your PVP capability (like BSM does) infact it decreases it because its harder to aim a bow and hit other players because it removes the cross you use for aiming.
3. You can still see the players at the same distance without optifine, all the zoom lets you see is there name a little bit clearer.

Optifine will never be banned or bannable, unless the creators of the mod add something that influences gameplay more than just the zoom function. Here is why it will not be banned. Yes, it is a mod that can influence gameplay with the zoom function, but that is pretty much all it aids you on. While other mods, like BSM can influence gameplay to a much greater scale.
