Hello! Guess the forums hasn't seen a good topic in a while. Anyway, I made this thread to share my mods/texturepacks/sounds/other things that make MCSG more immersive. And on top of that, ideas to make the server itself more immersive. (and you should too!)

immersive (ɪˈmɜːsɪv)
adj
providing information or stimulation for a number of senses, not only sight and sound: immersivetelevision sets

Okay, so here we go!

I use a texture pack called Misa's 64x64. It changes the atmosphere of minecraft COMPLETELY. It gives it a much better atmosphere. For example, minecraft deserts aren't so scary. They're just deserts. Misa's changes that, it gives the fog in the distance a hazy yellowish kind of look, it changes the color of grass to look dead and untreated. The sand is wavy and connects with eachother. Snow biomes are even better. The ice has cracks in it, and thanks to the wonderful technology of connecting textures, these cracks can stretch forever, instead of looping like the default minecraft's textures. The fog is white, the snow looks real, and very immersive. The grass looks good too (the one that pops out, not the block)

That's just the beginning though.

I use several other resource packs combined with Misa's to give an amazing sound experience. Birds chirp in the middle of forests, you can hear the tip tap of your shoes when running across stone, you actually sound like you're getting hurt, combat sounds real, instead of TICK TAK TACK TAK.

I turn off chat, nothing worse than "WHERES JOEY IM BETTER THAN YOU IM GONNA WINANANA" (Over Exaggerated)

I also have installed a custom player animations mod, running, swimming, and attacking looks alot better now and smoother.

I have replaced the normal music with ambient sounds, and sounds that keep you on the edge.

I may have been a bit overkill, xP. Do you do anything to make your experience more immersive? Share!

That sounds pretty cool, but none the less I still think I'll have trouble taking a game that features pigs, robots, chewbaccas, walruses, sheep, girls, boys, and all sorts of other people fighting with pieces of pork and swords in a arena located in the sky.

Would you be able to record a fight? I'd be interested to see what it looks like.

Sounds fun, I on other hand, have only the resource pack R3d Craft...
Currently all I am using is a custom one that I made in under a hour.
Default Base, smaller swords for block hitting, invisible inventory, and low fire.
