PSA: Skype IM Virus - Windows

I have no anti-virus, and all sort of "System Protection" stuff is turned off. I'm still good.
I always say, "As long as you aren't being an idiot on the internet, you won't mess up your computer."

I got the message ages ago and clicked on the link. It took me to a blank imgur page and downloaded something. I was like kthxbai.

I don't click on stuff, when 8 people send me a carbon copy on it. It's a good rule of thumb.

And this is exactly why I don't click any links from anyone that can hide anything malicious behind them, (Tinyurl, as an example.) and why I don't click links to websites I'm not familiar with unless I know I can trust it for sure. I don't care who they are, I don't even care if I know it was them that sent it, I'm not going to take a hit for it if they didn't realize at first it was Virus-ridden. I'm really, really careful about this stuff personally. When someone asks me why I refuse to click a link, that's the answer they'll get. There is a reason I've never gotten a virus before. (You don't want to see me when I'm doing research into something like a Minecraft mod before installing, either. )
