You'd be correct. Anything you look up is what the ads are based on. This is how "retargetting" works in the advertisement realm.

For example, the ads I have right now are: Chase, Citi Bank, and Geico. I've recently visited my bank's website (Chase), and it's showing related banks. In addition, I've looked up some car insurance recently without any care to follow through (the whole reason for retargetting - to get customers to return).

I remember there was a thread a while ago stating that ads like this happen on mobile browsers, regardless of search history. So we will assume you are clean and pr0n-free.

Anyways, I have adblock, but I probably should disable it here so the site can get money.
