Minecraft launcher = no sound

This is a problem I've had for a couple months now, maybe a year. I don't use the minecraft default launcher because every time i do, I receive no sound. I use magiclauncher all the time because of this. Now that a bunch of servers are on 1.6.4 and the 1.6.4 version of magiclauncher with optifine isn't out yet (or i can't get it to work) i am forced to use the minecraft launcher with 1.6.4 optifine. This means i don't have sound. So I have 2 things that I need help with. Either how do I get 1.6.5 optifine to work with magiclauncher, or how do i get the sound to work with the regular minecraft launcher.
