Okay, if I were you I'd explain that Skype is a very reputable application that is safe and secure. Explain how millions of people use it so it definitely doesn't give out viruses/steal your info. Also tell them that you don't need to enter credit card info and stuff like that. Continue to explain that Skype is safe because you can block people that are harassing you.
