There are many ways you can improve your surviving. Most of it is just spending 24-7 on MC but if your not for the finding your own strategy then here are some for you.
1. Find a good chest route. The best chest routes have at least 2 tier two chest in them. Try not to get popular tier two as most likely people will be there too. Possibly with weapons.
2. Pvp strategies. MCSG has tons of pros on it. So you need to learn how to pvp. You first need to practice aiming. The most important thing is having the ability to stay on your target. If they are good they will try to jump around and get on the side of you. So it is important to gain that ability. Strafing is another good strategy. Move to the side of your opponent while hitting him and he will have a hard time hitting you. Again you need to have good aim to be able to do this method. Flint and steel and bows are another good strategy. Use flint and steel when running away or fighting period to get the upper hand. Bows are good for water fighting. Increasing your bow skill can improve your PVP a lot. When pvping on land try to predict where you enemy will go. Shoot a little ahead of the prediction to get a good shot. bowing in water is good too. When bowing in water its best to shoot low at the opponent as many people try to go underwater to dodge an arrow. ( I don't reccomend block hitting until you are comfortable with the strafing and have gotten the method down)
3. Terrain fighting. When fighting on a hill it is best to get under your opponent. That way they have a hard time hitting you and you can get the upper hand on them.... literally. When fighting in water if you don't have a bow then get under your opponent. If they try to do the same thing then (ONLY if your good at it) try to block hit. It you are getting chased and your going up a hill try fishing rodding your opponent while your running to have more time to run up the hill.
4. Know when to not engage. If you see a big chase going on its usually best not to join it. As when you kill an opponent in that chase others might come after you. Another thing is weapons. Say there is someone with full iron and a stone sword and you have mixed armor like gold, chain, leather ect with a diamond sword. You are not going to have 100% chance of winning every time.
5. Never under estimate your opponent. Treat them as if they have better stuff than you and never take it easy on an opponent.
