Mojang pulled an interesting move today and released a 1.6.4 instead of a 1.6.3.. oh well. Here's the official, detailed update status for transparency purposes.
UPDATE: Because there are absolutely no protocol changes in 1.6.4, except for the version, all clients running 1.6.2, 1.6.3, or 1.6.4 will be able to connect once we've updated. This means that if you'd like, you can stay on 1.6.2 for the sake of any mods you may be using, or you can upgrade to 1.6.4.
