Ok, NEW QUESTION. Has there ever been mods or senior mods or even ADMINS who certainly do not deserve the rank they currently have.

You probably aren't going to like this because I know you're friends with Tpem, but when they gave tpem mod, I was seriously thinking about quitting MCSG. Tpem getting mod. Saying that out loud just makes me mad. And the main reason why he got it is because he's good friends with Six and he probably interviewed him. And I emailed Dave the admin about 2 months ago with a question about my mod. I won't get into too much detail here, but pretty much I haven't gotten a response yet. Even when I poke him on TS about it, he doesn't answer me. The only things the Admins do is sit in their TS channel because they think they're all that. And then you got mods that think that they're the sh*t because they have a red name. Just so many things piss me off about MCSG. But I still play it. Why? I don't know. I really don't know.

If you wanted to get something out to the staff, you contact the staff, not the community of MCSG publicly on the forums. Ever. That is why threads like these get locked.

It is none of the communities business to get involved in this, they don't know anything about it, whether what you're saying is entirely true or just another rumor flying around, whatever the case...this thread is just asking for everything to go wrong, and it should be shut down immediately. In fact, you should hope it does, since you've "never EVER meant to cause drama or controversy."

If you really don't want to cause any problems, you should really have taken a more appropriate approach to this. Publicly making a thread, with the knowledge it'll be locked, is not going to get you anywhere closer than contacting them privately would, and quite honestly...if you 'know' they are going to lock it because "they cannot take criticism," then how is this helping anything?


Honestly, every staff out there has it's problems, especially with a staff this huge, but this is not the way for a member of the community to go about trying to fix the problems.

This is partially true. There are definitely a million better ways of approaching this topic. But I really think you underestimate the communities true knowledge of how the staff operates. Don't you know that people are friends with mods and senior mods? You're treating the staff like they are the kings and the community like peasants. The staff(Higher-power staff mostly) shouldn't be so divided from community, I think that so incredibly absurd.

Well when I tried to contact an Admin via e-mail, I got no response. And he didn't respond to my pokes either. So I don't really know of any way to contact the Admins or any staff, really.

I'm treating the staff with the respect they deserve. That's what I'm doing.
I have to admit, in my time as a staff member, there were plenty of issues. What people don't realize, though, is that these issues aren't left alone, they are dealt with. The admins don't go around flaunting that they just used there powers to tell people off, they keep it quiet for the sake of the person who did something wrong. How would you feel if you were a moderator and the admins just publicly announced a mistake you made? It could ruin your reputation...and that's not fair.

I know how the staff operates is usually disjointed, even if only slightly...but the thing that bothers me is how people approach the problem.

And this is that problem.

Inform who? Why? Do you want the community to know so they hate the staff/MCSG more? Or do you want them to attempt to do something about it? What are they going to do? Argue everyone on the staff should look at themselves as a person to make them look for their mistakes, like you suggested in the thread?

Informing people makes things worse. Always. (Edit: Refer to my next post about this. I worded this a bit oddly and I feel I got the wrong idea across.) Things are always better dealt with silently than spread around to as many people as possible. This is how you prevent the drama and controversy you were speaking of...the reason there is so much is not solely the fault of the staff for making mistakes, it's the community trying to "inform people," sign petitions, etc..

And honestly...how is the staff divided? You just said yourself that there are plenty of people who are friends with staff, and that number only grows. Much of the forum community, even newer members, are friends with a staff member or two. Heck, even in news announcements, the devs will even throw an inside MCSG joke (like "pls tem i fan") in there. Aside from the power the individuals have...there is no divide...you know, aside from in threads like this, where the, for lack of a better way to put it, "staff hating" individuals flock.

Edit: I mean no offense with that, but honestly, the only time I notice a major "divide" is in threads like these, because people are quick to take sides.
As well, to elaborate on it a bit: The admins might now be particularly close to a lot of people or involved in the community, but have you ever considered why? If all they thought was about how awesome they were...don't you think they'd post more often to show their shiny tag? Speak for the staff? Anything?
Instead, they're spending their time working on issues you didn't even know existed. Come on, I'm not treating them like kings, I'm treating them with the respect they deserve for the work they do. I was on staff for a long while, and I've heard lots of stuff ( rumors) about what they supposedly do...but none of it proves to be true, and I wish people would take a step back and think about it for a moment, about what they are actually doing in this time.


Edit 2: I feel this post may have came across the wrong way, due to the fact that it was a bit rushed. I politely ask that anything that seems a bit sketchy be disregarded, I don't feel my mind was completely clear when writing this, nor that it got the proper amount of proofreading.

No community in the world is perfect. But only looking at the bad people of the community (which you're doing), is not the way to go. Try appreciating the mods that ARE good. I can assure you that there are plenty of those kinds of mods.

Informing people for necessary things, go ahead. I'm talking about how "the staff is corrupt" instances, or any rumors flying around that take a similar approach.

I have to say one thing: Informing people for things like the status of bugs being fixed, a delayed update, a map added, etc., are necessary. Maybe I should word it better, I meant more-so for instances similar to this, that end up in negative comments due to controversial subjects. (Especially those where one party doesn't have any information in the form of proving or disproving it.)

Edit: Rather than making a new post now that the thread is unlocked, I'll just edit this, as everything more I wish to add I feel is relevant to this.


I feel that I may have been misunderstood, that you got the wrong idea from what I said. I know you may feel you - no, many people, deserve to hear more from those in power about certain things, whether it applies to a real life situation or MCSG.

I won't go into my opinions about such things when it comes to real life situations, honestly. I made that post quickly, as I knew the thread was going to be locked soon, and the last thing I wanted was a staff member to lock it after I'd spent an hour on a post. Maybe I should have worded it better or just not included it at all. Understand it doesn't have anything to do with any political view of mine, if that's the vibe you got off of it.
