(Remember, I'm just stating it how it is. Majority rules.)
When you make a thread stating how MCSG should have more of a survival aspect, how mobs should be
re-added, how maps are too small, or how their are too many items in chests...
We all need to realize something...
The forum community is very different from the server community.
1. Size
With an in game community of over 1 million players, MCSG is HUGE, but the forum community makes up a very small percentage of that. Officially, the forum community consists of about 180,000 members but we all know that only about 3,000 of those players are actually "active (online at least a few times a week)", maybe even less.
2. Type of player
The forum community generally consists of more experienced MCSG players and because of this our opinions are a bit stronger than the average player (The in game community). In general the forum community wants "the survival aspect" back, but guess who doesn't? Yes, you got it, the in game community.
------------------------------------------------
Now you may be asking is "FuSioN, Where are you getting with this?" Well...
When the staff considers adding a new feature to MCSG, like "mobs, less food, etc." they obviously want to make sure its ok with the whole community first. But from a forumer's point of view, they don't seem to do this.
"But FuSioN, we all want those features, but the devs won't add them. I saw a forum poll just yesterday that supported re-adding mobs, but the devs won't listen to us!"
Keyword, all. The forum community makes up about 1% of all MCSG players. We need to think about that. A forum poll doesn't tell the whole story. But an in game poll does and it already has.
These results show that the "average user" doesn't want the "Survival aspect" back, by a steep margin too. The average user wants to keep it simple. They like the PvP the way it is. They enjoy the quick, easy, fast-paced gameplay that MCSG provides; And that isn't going to change.
If MCSG takes the opinion of the forum community, the way larger in game community would be extremely mad. The user base of MCSG would shrink a ton. MCSG is extremely successful the way it is, and they aren't going to change it for the opinions of a small portion of the community.
That's the way it is, so stop with the "survival aspect". I know you all want it, but it simply won't happen for the reasons stated above. Thanks for reading!
Edit: I'm not saying whether I support making it more like survival or not, I'm simply stating it how it is.
And if you wanna my other thread about teams: http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/stop-the-complaining-about-teams.55779/
