Okay.. Now where to begin... I (like many others) enjoy playing on MCSG. However, its not very fun when you are killed by a hacker/exploiter every time you play (literally). Here is a list of my recent hacker/exploiter occurrences:

  • Killed by sapling
  • Killed by wooden sword + stick
  • Killed by fist (iron fist exploit)
  • Killed by fist (iron fist exploit)
  • Almost killed by fist (fist exploit again)
  • Killed by baked potato
  • Observed death by arrow (hitting, not shooting)
  • [NEW] Partially killed by fist (death from other source)

Here are some solution ideas:
  • Death monitoring system
  • Automated hacker bannning system
  • More moderators
  • Moderators actually play the game rather than moderating the chat and leaving when the game starts
  • Stronger hack prevention
  • Iron fist glitch fix
If the hackers and exploiters were dealt with, I believe that it will make everyone's MCSG experience better.

A automated hacker banning system will just not work, seeing people will just find a way to exploit it, or it will be very buggy.

Currently we probably have more than enough moderators on our servers.

From what I've seen, the moderators actually play the game.

If we get a stronger hack prevention it will just screw up PVP in general.

The fist glitch is actually a minecraft glitch, so that won't be fixed until the next update.

My work here is done.

The things like killed by a sapling and potato is actually the fist glitch.

Yeah, the fist glitch sucks and everyone, including myself, hates it. I suppose more mods would always be good, but a system like that, as Hoppyhose said, will be very glitchy. It will ban actually skilled players (have you ever played a game with Kosmish? To this day, I hope to never again) as well, and cheaters tend to be crafty.

  • An automated hacker banning system would not work as this system could ban many innocent players causing more problems than there should be
  • We currently have over 100 staff and still growing so too few mods shouldn't be a problem
  • I'm guessing these moderators leave the game due to a map voted that they don't want to play but if you ever do need a mod to come in your server due to a hacker, please alert any staff on ts and I'm sure they'll be happy to help you
  • What do you mean by stronger hacking prevention? Any suggestions?
  • The iron fist glitch is a Minecraft glitch, not a MCSG one but we are looking for a way to temporarily fix this.

More mods would mean more corrupt or fake mods, not doing there job but abusing it
plus your suggesting all this but you dont know diamond fist glitch is something wrong wjth minecraft, not mcsg

*on one server (that's the hub)

Mods never play games unless they are with people they know. The best way to catch hackers is to play and spectate games instead of staying in hub kicking spammers.

There are loads of mods but they always join server, see if there are any spammers and leave. Not enough of them are looking for hackers and a fair number of mods expect players to record hackers and do their work for them.

I personally see many mods in games, I bump into at least 2-3 moderators every 2 games. Again I believe they leave due to a map they don't want to play. If you ever do see a hacker, poke a member of staff on teamspeak but we do want the community to help us by reporting and recording hackers as we do have our real life responsibilities. We don't make them "do our job", we just ask that they do their part and report people and we will handle them.

So I have seen this used on the Roxbot server. What the plugin does is it puts a invisible floating Steve above all the players heads. If they player is using Force Field or any similar hack, the Steve will be hit by the player. Than the Steve alerts an in game Moderator who can deal with the problem. I doubt this will be implemented but it is a cool plugin. Also, it was custom made for Roxbot so Developers would have to create their own version.

New moderators are coming up every day! But I do understand that they don't stay for the whole game. Which can be annoying
