Actually, according to the reasonable statistical extrapolation from the folks behind the Brony Census, they state [1] that within a 95% confidence interval that 4.0%-6.8% of internet-using US population identify themselves as Bronies. And according to the US Census data released in 2011 [2], 6.6% of the US is considered to be a teenager. Furthermore, according to the census data [3] from that year as well, there was a total of 311,591,917 people living within the US.

Let's assume that the rates of internet usage amongst teenagers are representative of that of the entire population, we are able to borrow the 80% percentage from the Brony Census, which itself was from a Pew poll; furthermore, let's assume that the ratio of Bronies is also representative of that within the entire population. That means that there are approximately 1,118,740 teenagers who are bronies (based on their internet usage quality).

That means of the approximately 21,885,067 teenagers in the US, only 5.112% of them are Bronies.
This is a far cry from the estimated 30%, and my personal belief is that the true number suffers from availability bias and is more likely to be significantly lower. However, there is enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis submitted by the OP.

If you'd like, I'd be willing to go over the numbers with you at a later point in time.
