Avatar won't update?

I have been having an issue. When I click on my name in the top right corner of the screen. I click on avatar to change my avatar. When I type in my name to change it to my Minecraft avatar...it doesn't update. It doesn't do anything. Any help please?

I don't think I understand. When I click on avatar, I don't have to type in my name.... Are you referring to your Minecraft skin, or MCSG website profile picture?

Ohhh.... when you said avatar, that usually refers to your profile picture.

When I want to get a new skin, I usually go to a skin website (whichever you want), and choose the skin I want. There's usually an option to either download the skin to your computer, or upload it directly to Minecraft.net

If you choose the 2nd option, you will usually have to log in first, go through a confirmation screen (Are you sure you want to change your skin?) and when you click "change", wait a few seconds on the page.

After that, restart Minecraft (after waiting about 10 seconds) and then go into a server and check. Restarting Minecraft should work.

Jeeeeeeeeeesuuuuuuus. I posted that all for nothing??? Just kidding, no worries.

When I change my avatar, I usually download the picture first (Whether it's off Google Images, or custom-made), downloading is never a bad idea. When I go to avatar, I select "choose file" and then change it. Do you follow the same steps that I do? If so, it should work fine.

When I click use minecraft avatar. It says avatar updated. Then nothing happens. This just started happening to me today.

Oh ok. So when I was reading this at first I opened the avatar page in a new tab, which is quite different from just clicking on it.

I accidentally just clicked "use minecraft avatar" and it didn't work.

I'm pretty sure you started out with a minecraft avatar when you first started though.

If would either:
a) Make sure that your name is typed out correctly (Caps do count!)
b) If it still doesn't work, choose/make a new avatar, to be honest, they do look better, but it really comes down to personal preference.

Try to restart your computer after you change your skin, if you haven't tried that yet.
