Hey there, so I've been watching a lot of less known Minecraft Youtubers and just a few of them have this blur effect on their videos. I thought it might be a blur mod, but it turns out that it isn't. I've tried a couple of times to duplicate this effect, but to no success. I'm positive that it has to deal with the FPS. Yet, I asked another person how much FPS they recorded at. They said 90-120, which is strange since I can record at 120+ on max settings, so surely I'm able to do this, but Youtube always makes my videos 30 FPS. I don't know how they can bypass the 30 FPS limit and have it look smooth. Am I rendering my videos wrong or what?

Oh, and here's an example of what I'm talking about:

Hey dude, I know a bit about this subject so I'll do my best to explain what you're seeing.

This isn't an effect, rather, it is the video editing program "blending frames" or "re-sampling" the frame rate output.
For example;
If I record a game at 30fps and then render the footage again at 30fps (YouTubes limit) there will be no frame blending because there are no extra frames to account for.
However, if I record at say... 100fps and then output at 30fps, the rendering or editing program will usually, by default, "re-sample" the footage and blend the extra 70 frames into the 30fps video output which results in the ghosting/blurred video you have posted.

Just to clarify, this is not an effect lol. Anyone who is obsessed with video quality as much as I am will tell you how much they HATE re-sampling and blended frames xD

hope this helped!

It did help :), thank you very much. I, however, think that the video looks better with "blended frames". Unfortunately, Camtasia Studios doesn't seem to have this option, so I might try Sony Vegas. If you know a any other program that can do this, please tell me.

I know Sony vegas like the back of my hand haha, it re-samples frames by default :)

Right, how so you record at a higher fps? What are the advantages/disadvantages?

Hey, I don't know if you'll be able to do it if you're not using a Mac- but in Screenflow (the editing software I use) there're a few different filters you can apply to your videos to give a similar effect. I don't know if this will help at all!

Hi, the problem you are experiencing I experienced when I first started Youtube. It annoyed me for months until I found a simple fix. And here I am now, 337,000 subscribers later :)

step 1
Click on the start menu and type into the search bar "%appdata%

step two
Click on .minecraft

step three
click on bin

step four
Open the archive "minecraft" with winrar (it can be downloaded online)

step five
delete "Meta.inf" (if its there)

step six
delete the "ctf" and "com" folders

FINISHED! :D

I hope you end up enjoying minecraft as much as I do! Good luck!

You're obviously not Vareide since it's spelt Vareide, not Variede. Nice try though.
