Quick Question About Minecon

So I have a question about Minecon and the Minecon cape. I know in order to get the cape, you need to buy a ticket to the event. My question is, do you need to actually go to the event, or do you need to just buy the ticket and you get it? Like, I can't go to Minecon because I have school and I live in New Jersey and it's so much money for a plane ticket and a hotel room. So if I were to buy the ticket and then sell it, would I get the cape? Or would I need to actually go to the event to receive it? Sorry, I'm a nub at this stuff. Does anyone know the answer to this?

yes you can and no they are not..... I got2013 ones and it says my name no where cause The buyer is not the user... so if a parent buys it the kids can play and I dont know if u need to go
