When I started playing mcsg a year ago approx. Then you could do / msg to players in the game. I miss it because it is very practical. If you ran and looked for them last to dm for 20 minutes gets you pretty tired of it. Then instead would only be able to write to this person and meet him somewhere.

why at all, it was taken away?

Huge disadvantages to players without a helper.
They can tell you oponents gear and where they are.
This ruins sneak attack strategies etc.

I feel like 10 blocks is a little short though. I mean, if you needed help and your team mate was 10 blocks away, he would see you were in trouble. x)
