Better Sprint mod will be added to vannila!

Well , recently Dinnerbone ( I believe it was him) tweeted a screenshot of a the options screen with the ability to bind sprint to a key , instead of double tapping. I am unsure if you will be able to toggle it or not but I guess this should solve allot of innocent bans in the future.

Also , this may seem stupid , but if BSM is being added to vanilla would that mean those banned for using it would get their bans revoked , as there is no threat of them using it again?

Since they broke the rules, why should they be unbanned?

That's like saying nodus users should be unbanned because it got discontinued.

Hmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I've always sort of liked Minecraft's weird sprinting mechanics, no idea why.

Also, people who used BSM and got banned would not be unbanned if this happened, due to the fact that at the time they used BSM it was against the rules.

They better do it right...if they aren't careful, the addition of a bindable sprint type of thing could completely change PvP. (BSM, though a significant advantage, doesn't actually change a whole lot about it, since the mod creator was careful enough to consider knockback problems) I honestly don't believe they will consider how much it could really change for many major servers if they aren't careful about it's addition...and for those who have been PvP'ing for years, it could be a big pain. (Wasn't as big a deal when Minecraft was much smaller and lacked any PvP aspects whatsoever back in the beta days where they first added sprinting.)

In other words, they better do it like the BSM creator did. That's the one thing I like about BSM: The creator was kind enough to reduce the advantages it gave as much as possible. A simple bindable sprint with nothing else done to it would...change a lot about the way PvP is done, actually.

Hmm I didn't know about this till reading this thread I suppose it will be useful for those who tend to have trouble double tapping though at this point I'm so used to minecraft's mechanics I feel like it would throw me off entirely.

I really hope they scrap it, I don't feel like changing my PvP style entirely.
