Which do you prefer? Skype or TeamSpeak?

TeamSpeak. Skype just gets annoying, and you can't mute mics, etc. The "buddy" functionality is cool as well, and makes up for the lack of "contacts".

Something else cool, is if someone is annoying, you can mute their client (for just you), or lower their volume

They both have their pros and cons. I have weeks when all I use is TS, and others when all I use is Skype. But in the longrun, Skype is better in my opinion.

I use Skype, mainly because most of my friends use it and I'm too lazy to install teamspeak

They're both good in their own ways. Skype I normally only use for messaging people or talking to my friends who do not have Teamspeak (which is the case, most of the time) Teamspeak I like better because it gives you opportunities to meet new people easier, not to mention it's not as laggy as Skype for me.

You installed skype... but I would much rather use skype. I guess I suck at ts so I use skype.

Never used teamspeak before so I have to say Skype

I like skypes layout better, and features.
But Teamspeak's a lot better for meeting new people, and doesn't cause lag.

Sooo... about equal.

It's so hard to talk to people on Skype, but on TeamSpeak you can simply join a channel and start chatting with people. If you call someone on Skype, they will probably be grumpy and not want to talk to you.

Skype is easy to use and gentle to all, but teamspeak is definitely higher quality, though slightly utilitarian.

TeamSpeak:

Pros:
Meeting new people
Can mute mic with a click of a button
Has permissions
Can poke people

Cons:
Random people might join
Random people might come in to start annoying everybody
Random person might join when recording

Skype:

Pros:
No one can ruin your recording by joining
Privacy

Cons:
Can't meet new people
Have to add contact members
