Not really. If you're uploading to YouTube, about 75% of the original quality is lost anyway. Fraps uncompressed looks great. Dxtory can be better but Fraps is just as good on YouTube and Dxtory is harder to set up and fine tune for your system and can be more resource intensive.

Well, it also depends on what kind of render settings you use when you render out the footage.

I beg to differ. Fraps runs better on my system than Dxtory and my slow hard drive records just fine at 30fps with no frame drops whatsoever.

Windows:

Dxtory - Even if you play with lag, it looks surprisingly good and it looks like you are playing with a high FPS and is very smooth and has a great quality!

Fraps - Good basic recorder with a small file so it is easier to use.

Mac:

Screenflow - Good HD Recorder, best you can get for Mac I reckon. (What I use xD)
