Problem with MC 1.5

So, I recently got a new computer. On my old computer, I could easily play 1.5 and 1.6 no problem. But now, whenever I try to play in 1.5, my Minecraft just freezes, so I have to CTRL, ALT, DEL. This only happens in 1.5, not 1.6. So if anyone could shed some light on this problem, I would appreciate it.

What do you mean by FS mode? And no is probably the answer. I join a server, I can walk around for a few seconds, then I just freeze.

I don't know where to get it. I'm on a new computer so I only have the new one 3:

I would get magic launcher and use a new 1.5 jar off of that.

Well , This happens to me a lot but thats only when I'm in full screen. And by fullscreen I mean by F11. So when minecraft normally starts , for me it opens in full screen immediately so I just exit out of Fullscreen and everything's good! I thought this could be a solution because I have encountered the exact same problem multiple times.
