Xenforo, really complex for getting the same level of awesomeness as mcsg and other sites (bukkit and fyreuk for example). Plus its pretty expensive

Yeah, if you want to start your own Xenforo website you need heeps of people donating to you, like MCSG has.

Costs $140 without copyright banner removal, which is another $50. Then there are purchaseable skins for your website, I believe MCSG had theirs custom designed. That can range from $10 to $200 for a custom one. Then there's server costs, etc. But they do have advertising which does help. (I'm in the process of setting up my own XenForo website!
