Cant connect because of Optifine?

Before i installed optifine for 1.6.2 i did not have any problem logging into the MCSG servers. Now that I have downloaded it, it would just say connecting to server. i have waited for 15 minutes and it still said that. This happens if I download any mod. I am on Mac Osx

but didnt optifine for 1.6.2 come out already and didnt minecraft 1.6.2 come out already?

yes but mcsg is still in 1.6.1

alsoi have another question, when i followed the instructions to download optifine 1.6.2 not on magic launcher it would say "job version and library finished with one failure" which would stop me from playing mine craft. Is there any way to fix this?
