Right now, I am still waiting for the plugin configuration to be finished before anything else.

My response to that is it is going to feel mainly like vanilla minecraft PvP. There will be no anti-cheat/nocheat+ on the server allowing for a more clean fight.

Will there be an area where we can 1v1?

Like me? I've been here since beta, around 50 wins. Granted, I've taken a few hiatuses, but nonetheless, I'd love to improve my pvp.
