The Nodus dev has said he would discontinue the mod for the past few updates now, and it doesn't happen. Just face it, however much we may want it, Nodus isn't going away.

That's not the point, that's later... but for 1.6 and a few updates if not forever they'll be quite a bit of a cut down :)

I dont want to be the pessimist but i am sure there will come another developer who takes the 1.5.2 nodus version and updates its to 1.6 :c

The link provided in that thread was the developer saying he was shutting down Nodus. As everyone knows, it still exists. Ergo, I trust no announcements saying Nodus is getting shut down, because it won't be.
No, that wasn't an announcment from the developer? The website was down and people go overexcited. This is an announcment from the developer. Even read the posts on that thread.

The developer used his own compiler so I don't think it would be easy, if anything somebody could start it from scratch under the name "Nodus" but you also have to think about copyright.
