I haven't noticed an abundance of hackers now, I play EU so not sure if it's a problem with US/CA/AU. Or maybe I am just lucky

Also, I understand this is slightly off topic but I was wondering why the reason some many new maps have been added?

This is my honest opinion which hopefully won't be too controversial; the general community has lost track as to what a good map is. Therefore any map that is not absolute crap, most likely get's accepted if enough community members get around to seeing the maps thread.

Although the logical choice for this situation is due to the planet minecraft contest, and people not knowing where to place their maps for the contest, or they didn't finish their map in time but decided to go along and finish it anyways, and showcase it on the MCSG Maps forum.

Let's back onto the topic of which this thread was created for.

There has been a definite spike in hackers recently. Today I have seen 6 hackers and sadly I only managed to get 2 of them banned.

I have noticed there being quite a large amount lately as well. I think that this is simply because it's now summer. Summer brings a lot of extra (possibly new) players, which includes a large amount of hackers in the mix as well. I also notice about 25-40% of the time hackers are teamed with other hackers. (which makes it easier to catch both )

I play in AU and I found 10 hackers in 5 games, it's winter here so that kinda ruins your theory

It's not really hackers that have been banned recently from MCSG, I've noticed that the people that have been banned are mostly spammers and flame starters. So... I've seen a few hackers like 4 or 5 out of 20 games. But that's about it, altogether, there are not that many hackers right now.

Yeah I noticed that too, but seriously every time you get killed by a hacker all you have to do is record him, render the vid, upload it to youtube and send the link to MCSG. It doesnt take too long and you're helping the community out a ton when you do. So if everybody could just stop raging about hackers and actually do something about them themselves, that'd be great.
