Hello everyone!
So today, I've had the worst frame drops I've ever seen. I go from 120 fps, to 0 fps for around 10 seconds and I can barely move. I've noticed that it starts happening during the middle of games(every time....) The only mod I have is Optifine, and my computer specs are good for the most part, but I've noticed that it happens during the middle of a game. I also tried cleaning some hard drive space, but that didn't help. There are a lot of talented people in this community and if anyone has any advice, please comment below :3

Also, my graphics card is an Evga Geforce GTX 470, with 1gb of video memory.

*Refreshed my minecraft jar, no good.

Open up the performance tab in the task manager, it sounds like your CPU or Ram could be spiking. If it's running at or near 100%, this can cause lag spikes.

From there you can see how to fix it. :)

Yeah when I'm lagging hardcore, my CPU is at %100. It's a quad core processor, and I replaced the thermal grease on it a month ago :C

Mmkay, that's the problem.

If you go to the processes tab and click show processes from all users, sort them by CPU and see which process is nomming on your CPU.

It's Java.exe, which is what Minecraft runs off of. hmm

Yeah, that's kinda odd. Google? :p Unless it happens on all games/apps, in that case it could be another thing or perhaps your CPU being weird :l

Mhm. The only thing I can think of is if there's another process eating lots of CPU, you're running an old/outdated java version, you're running the wrong version (32bit or 64).

Also, have you installed any new hardware, plugged in a headset to a different USB port or something?

One thing you can try which sometimes stops CPU spikes is right clicking on the sound in the corner, playback devices, right click on the one that is active, properties, enhancements and check disable all sound effects. The audio graph thing in Windows can sometimes use a looooot of CPU when rendering game noises, etc.
