We are not bashing the mods, or at least I'm not. I'm just trying to figure out everything that has been going on.

That's what this thread is for. To understand things and situations and get knowledge. The purpose of this thread is for peaceful discussion.
I'll be honest, it wasn't you I was talking about. But look up at the messages before, go into another thread about a similar situation or go in game with a banned player and you would see tonnes of abuse to the mods. I really don't know how they take it day after day. I can agree with the knowledge bit, I have learnt more coming here :). But just look at any other thread regarding Just_Hello and you see people thinking it's all because he spoke his opinion.

There's 3 halves? :S

My maths skills is not good :(

On the part of miscomunication and the community disagreeing with some demotions part I must say those two shouldnt be associated. I mean... It does make sence in my opinion why a mod gets demoted shouldnt be told, its none of the normal players bussines.

I know many (and Ive found myself in that situation too) disagree with demotions sometimes just because they like the person and they think he/she is cool... but it must be understood that theres far more than that to a mod, one awesome person who is a mod can be extremely lazy and not do his/her job and get demoted, but that would be a deserved demotion because of what Ive stated before, theres more than just how much of a good person the mod is.

Ill give a very personal example, a couple of month ago I got accepted as mod and never got to finish my interview due to personal problems on my end... but as time went through, in the end, I decided not to ask for the interview again becasue I thought of how good I would do my job as a mod since I wouldnt be of much use to catch hackers, because of the extreme lag Ive always played with, which are MCSG's main concern and I would have only been useful to punish those who swear or insult other players (who are far from being the main concern). Thats why I decided not to be a mod after all (as much as I wanted and want to be), it would be one more space to give a chance to someone else who would make a better mod and also because I knew sooner or later I could make a mistake because of the conditions in which I play.

My point is... you can ask around and youll probably find people who will say they like me and that Im a good guy and yet I wouldnt have made the best mod, would have been demoted evetually for understandable reasons and people could still complain because they liked me, the story would be too long for the staff to explain why and in the end it wouldnt be worth the trouble.

I dont think theres much miscomunication between the staff and the comunity, and the little bit there is, is not on this topic.

Remember this is only my opinion though! :)
Thanks for your opinion!

MCSG is under constant attack from people trying to damage our reputation for their personal gain. These people are willing to lie, talk out of context or push their own personal agenda(s). Trust me, I would love to post all of the issues we face in a homepage post but I don't want to go as low of the people starting it as flame wars are not the answer. Just understand, any decision we make pretty much is made to protect this community as a whole. As stated by some of the staff: "If I had a penny for everytime I saw people post 'MCSG is dead'..." (which ironically we actually gotten more popular than ever before and the trend hasn't stopped).

TLR: Any MC community has bumps in the road, but we have a team of people working hard to make sure things get fixed in the fairest possible way to better MCSG as a whole.

BTW, is this thread deleted? Nope...stop assume we ban people for their opinions as that is frankly false. We love and welcome constructive criticism from our members, we don't like flat out attacks to our thriving community.
Chad, I am going to blatantly disagree with you. There is such obvious bias going on to any member new or old. People have been banned for reasons that confound me. You haven't done major explanations to the community, so why on earth would we expect minor things? Flame wars aren't going to be started if there aren't rumors. Most of the rumors need to be killed with a long, thought-out response. MCSG isn't dead, nor did the OP say it was. It simply stated that members are afraid to speak out because many bias people will start to get very scared and ban the person speaking out or tell them to stop or face a ban. The whole #Y4F thing was a huge showing of bias. The people in that movement did not break rules, yet many members of staff said we'd be banned if it was kept up. Then they have the gall to send Moderators (OUR FRIENDS), who deceived us to keep their job, to record /private/ conversations. Not only did this ruin my trust in the Admins guilty, it ruined a friendship between the Moderator foolish enough to listen to them. One of the Moderators asked to do this confessed he/she was asked to do it and told me personally he/she was not going to do it. Changes are needed, to say the very least.

Also, this is not for personal gain. I'm not like that. I am someone who, like you, wants to voice my opinion. I'd love to have a 1-on-1 conversation with you to explain some other things.

Why is this in Feature Suggestions o_O
It appears to have been moved...

Thanks for all the positive response on this subject! I have come to conclusion that both the members and the staff can work on things to improve the community altogether. The staff can inform us more clearly on certain things, while the members can at least show some appreciation for the staff. I suggest creating an annual Staff Appreciation Day.

I feel as though nothing more needs to be said about this. If anyone still wants to talk to me or any staff member about this, pm us.

However, the most important thing to remember is that the staff and members must stick together. Cooperation is the key to success in our community. ;)

Thank you all.
