I just wanted to speak my mind on record as well. Hope (again) people don't twist my words as that is one of the reason why you all haven't seen my opinions much to certain issues.

Your opinions are much appreciated. I wanted to know all sides of this.

MCSG is under constant attack from people trying to damage our reputation for their personal gain. These people are willing to lie, talk out of context or push their own personal agenda(s). Trust me, I would love to post all of the issues we face in a homepage post but I don't want to go as low of the people starting it as flame wars are not the answer. Just understand, any decision we make pretty much is made to protect this community as a whole. As stated by some of the staff: "If I had a penny for everytime I saw people post 'MCSG is dead'..." (which ironically we actually gotten more popular than ever before and the trend hasn't stopped).

TL:DR: Any MC community has bumps in the road, but we have a team of people working hard to make sure things get fixed in the fairest possible way to better MCSG as a whole.

BTW, is this thread deleted? Nope...stop assume we ban people for their opinions as that is frankly false. We love and welcome constructive criticism from our members, we don't like flat out attacks to our thriving community.
I don't think he was trying to start a flame war, or is trying to attack MCSG. I believe that the decisions made protected Mcsg, but may have been a little extreme.

I am not trying to start a flame war or attacking MSCG. Nor have I said 'MCSG is dead'. I have simply asked for your opinions on whether or not it was MCSG's darkest hours.

This is so sad and true.
Basically if you try and give some constructive criticism you get in trouble with the staff.
Yeah I'm going to get in some deep water for saying this aren't I? >:/
I'm not saying the staff are bad, they're really good but too be honest, they always have to be right.

Lol! I agree with KRadium, nobody has been punished for "Speaking their mind" But like chad said, people twist words, lie, and do anything to push their own agenda... Be that adgenda what it may be, Ive seen a few of these "Speaking their mind" and it usually goes a little something like this... :

"OMG MCsG Sux The STAff Dont do they;re Job because theirs TOo many hackers. iTs pointsless to play because the Serverz are laggy."

While more of these may be more mature, ^ is a common example... Can you imagine why this is an obvious violation of the rules?

CaptainJS, This way that you have done in this thread was done not only correctly, but maybe "Over correctly" Idk... I gotta applaud you, I actually read 100% of this thread, and this is just my humble opinion...

Words of wisdom: If we start calling criminals martyrs, then everyone wants to be a criminal...

Edit: I hadnt heard anything about any of the other (Unnamed) random drama... You know what Im talkin about... So, my opinion is based solely on the main post in this thread...

Cam, I respect you and I'm heeding what you are saying, but there is a fine line between twisting words to further one's own agenda and the truth. That's not to say that the everyone against the staff is stating the "truth", there are some who are opposed to the staff on a personal level and are not fighting for a particular cause yet there are also others who just feel like the community has gone down a dark path and they want to help change it. To be frank, everyone may try to twist words to further their own ambitions and their own cause because they want more to support their side of the argument, is this not true? I feel both sides of this argument are twisting words to gain support so it is not just to point fingers, especially to the community. The problem I see is that no one seems to be looking at both sides or willing to hear from both sides, they simply want to support their own cause and are willing to lie for it.

Also, I feel the example you provided of what the typical "staff opposition" post is is not what most people are arguing, at least not as of now. Those types of posts are usually only done by people who feel they've been unjustly banned or have a complaint to the staff. Just thought I'd shed my light on that ;)

The reason people think that they are "Punished for stating opinions" is a kind of sad process.

Player complains about MCSG, most statements are untrue and are mostly made to cause arguments ---> Thread is closed for flame/inaccurate information ---> People take it the wrong way, thinking that mods closed it due to a disagreement ---> They complain about how mods are "Censoring our opinions" ---> That thread is closed for downright lying and untruthfulness ---> This adds fuel to the flame, and makes more people believe the initial claim ---> This group of people start to tear apart any and every closed thread to find evidence of censorship ---> People continue to pour in as these instances are questioned ---> The process continues as more people begin to join in to the "Cause" and the utter hatred towards staff increases ---> The staff tries to make rebuttal to these nearly baseless claims ---> People believe the staff are just trying to 'cover their behinds' and just allow any statement made by them to be untrue.

By the end of this chain - People are conditioned to ignore mod explanations, mods are on their wits end, mods and players leave, mods because of the hate they receive, players because they think mods are corrupt.

I agree that people do need to question what mods do and why they do them, in many instances they may be on the road to discovering legitimate mod abuse, but that doesn't mean you need to look at all of us through a shifted perspective. We're given mod for a reason, you need to keep a small amount of confidence in us and our decisions. We can't actively handle situations if we're worried that our decisions will be questioned by everyone for no good reason.

All I ask of the community is to try to avoid jumping on the "All mods are bad train" if you do feel there is an issue regarding a mod or a decision made by a mod please point it out to a Sr.Mod, and if you have an issue with something done by a Sr.Mod talk to someone higher up Sr.Mod (Admin or Community Manager). Avoid these big open "I HAVE AN ISSUE" discussion, because in all honestly, they're closed because many matter like this are purely circumstantial evidence based and tend to just disrespect mods as a whole.
