Hey guys, Virtual here! ;)

I've been thinking recently... MCSG isn't what it used to be.
MCSG back in the old days, also known as the "Golden days", was so much more fun.
The old lobby was so much better than the lobbies we have now. It was classic, and I loved it. I don't understand why they changed it in the first place... it was a neat lobby... :(
Another thing I loved was the old death-match arena. I understand it wouldn't work now because the plugin now makes the DM arena shrink by using lightning, and the current one is better anyways, but the old DM arena was neat, I liked how the sand kept falling and encouraged players to get closer to the center...
Now here's what bothers me the most...
the new maps.
It was nicer when we just had two maps... SG1 and SG2.
I'm not reluctant to change, change is fine, except it honestly was better back then.
There weren't too many maps, and it just felt... better.
Minecraft 1.2.5 also made MCSG what it was back then. This might just be nostalgia, but the leather armor looked cooler, and you had to drag your items on, and it just made it feel more realistic, I suppose. (not positive if you could shift click stuff on, but I'm pretty sure you couldn't)
All in all, I mostly lost that feeling of MCSG. Where your heart was pumping because you wanted to win, and the adrenaline rush at corn or DM...

I even use the default texture pack from time to time because of nostalgia... :p

This is just what I think, and I made a thread in the "Feature Suggestions" which suggests adding 10 servers (or more) of "Nostalgia MCSG". These servers will have SG1 and SG2, the old lobby, and MCSG V1. All they have to do is replace the current PMC servers (the contest is over, it should be anyways...) and do that. This would honestly be the coolest update ever.

Thanks for reading everyone. :3

SG1 and SG2.
If they would have just kept two maps, so many people (Including myself, probably) would have left. Unfortunately, it's doubtful much of that nostalgia you remember from the old days will come back just by using an old plugin. You are good at the game now, It's not nearly as scary or thrilling as when you were bad and barely understood the game. You are desensitized to the same thrills that used to get your heart pumping, and bringing back V1 won't change that.

No matter how good MCSG is, there will always be people who complain. We could go back to V1 and suddenly everyone would hate on our poor developers, because they would want the old version back. People tend to want what they can't have. Am I actually the only one here, that is happy with the way it is at the moment? Sure, it isn't perfect, but it never was and it never will be. MCSG is still extremely fun and I think that's what matters the most.

You're most likely right...

I don't think we should switch back, I agree with your post. MCSG is still extremely fun. I just think we should have separate servers, kind of like PMC.

I only dislike the new chests about v2. I know we voted for them, but nobody realized how much of a disaster 5 arrows in a chest was. And I have no idea why anyone would vote for 5 feathers. Leather boots are equal to chain and gold boots, so why have a tier 1 piece of armor equal a tier 2? Some of the new maps are good, but some are bad. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to play them, you have iron donor, you could just leave and find a new lobby. For example, I dislike Lost Mine, but I really like Treacherous Heights. There will almost always be maps you like and dislike. This idea would be nice to implement, though. The only problem I see is maybe too many people will join the v1 servers and the v2 servers would be empty, or vice versa.

This is the exact same thing thing that happens when any game changes. There's a few nostalgia junkies who remember a time with less knowledge, which in turn makes you remember it as something better. Most people with most games consider it better around the time when they started playing. I prime example of this is Runescape.

This is the truth in my opinion, nothing more, nothing less :).

Actually it was really really boring if we had the same Lobby for one Year... I did the Jumping Parkour 4 Times in a single Lobby.
We need variety.

Another thing I loved was the old death-match arena. I understand it wouldn't work now because the plugin now makes the DM arena shrink by using lightning, and the current one is better anyways, but the old DM arena was neat, I liked how the sand kept falling and encouraged players to get closer to the center...

The Deathmatch Arena caused huge Lags at much Guys though Ive gotta say I wish there was something like a new DM arena...

the new maps.
It was nicer when we just had two maps... SG1 and SG2.
I'm not reluctant to change, change is fine, except it honestly was better back then.
There weren't too many maps, and it just felt... better.

As I said above... Having just two Maps would be boring for the old schoolers... I think really much Guys already would have quit if we only had SG1 and SG2.
And honestly TSG I and TSG II are amazing Maps...

The first point (with the armor) is team Mojangs fault and not MCSG's
The second point is just the experience... You get more and more experience you get better and better and with time your losing the adrenaline... Thats unchangeable...

Tl;Dr:

Even if they changed everything back you wouldnt have the feeling of earlier...
You experienced everything and lost the Adrenaline.
If you want the Adrenaline play Clanwars or Hell Games :)
