The reason you might not have found some chests in big buildings is because we placed some on top of them That's only in some cases though. Some have chests right outside of them so we didn't place some inside. Just so there weren't too many in one spotI played on three of the maps thus far (on the pmc server) and thought I would rate them on my experiences. Keep in mind, I only played these once. I will definitely try all of them again, but as of now, this is how I feel:
Colossal Caverns: 7/10
I have mixed feelings about this map. It is beautifully designed but I just can't get past the "darkness" of it. As the name states, you're basically in some type of cavern with trees and vines surrounding you. Some parts of the map are just too dark for me, and it definitely reminded me of a map that I can't remember (SG5? maybe? The one where corn is under the big tree inside of a mountain). I like brighter maps, where I can see most of the time. Unfortunately, the route I chose seemed to be popular amongst the other tributes, but the scenery was beautiful. I went towards the little water village, if that means anything to anyone. Once I spectated, I was able to poke around other parts of the map and was eager to give it another go.
Little Haven: 8/10
Definitely my favorite of the three. There were a couple of instances where I would search through large buildings only to find zero chests, which was somewhat frustrating. I also had a run-in with a TNT trap which gave me a good scare! I was able to find some leather armor and an axe so I was able to hold off some people. After I died, I spectated and was very happy with the general look of the map. I'm always a fan of maps that have some sort of water "buffer" which can give me a chance against the heavily armed tributes. Great map!
Quartz Laboratory: 5/10
My least favorite of the three I played. Once I left corn I turned to go into a room and was stuck in there for most of the game. A couple of people came in that I was able to kill, so that was nice. Finally, once there were probably around 5 tributes left, someone was nice enough to let me out and give me a running head start (LOL). I ran into a room that looked like I was in outer space, pretty good effect. And I did notice several chests in there so I took note of that. Not soon after only three of us remained and deathmatch had commenced. I died rather quickly. From my short experience with the map I was immediately reminded of Solar Frost, a map I despise (Due to the congested hallways). I would give it another try, though!
There should be no room where you get perma stuck (besides 1 in the "space room" as you called it). I think I know what room you were in, in one of the corners with black on the floor there is a hole you can drop in which leads to 2 chests and you can get out Look around better next time? And thanks! I modeled it after solar frost, im glad it reminded you of it but sorry your experience wasn't the best.Quartz Laboratory: 5/10
