Communication error

I just joined Minecraft and found out about these survival game servers.
I did everything as far as adding a bunch of those servers. I can see how many minutes remain, lobby, how full ,etc. But as soon as I try to join it says "Connection Lost. Failed to login: null" and then that server says "Communication error".
I've played with my firewall to allow java and the port 25565, etc. but it still won't work. I've restarted countless times and redownloaded, nothing works.

Please help?! I want to play.

Try keeping a high capacity server in your server list, so that when that happens, you can join, move around a bit, and then disconnect and try to connect to the MCSG server. This always fixes it when it happens to me. I suggest a high capacity server so that you know it won't be full when you need it.

I've tried other high capacity servers, and I can't connect to those either, same error. This is my first time trying to connect to servers and multiplayer, so maybe I'm just not doing something?

Did you purchase Minecraft from mojang or are you using a free version? If your using a free version then you will need to go and buy minecraft in order to play on these servers.
If you did buy minecraft then try uninstalling it and re-installing it. if that doesn't help come back and ask for more help.
