sure, but soon we will have lots of these maps with forests, houses and rivers. Very skilled builders like vareide & co. could pursuit something more ambitious and unique.

About fan-made maps, Hungry Hills was rejected, and it looks spectacular aesthetically, so the must have some REALLY high standards. Good luck with you
Thread-wise, I personally love maps tha utilises the underground, there wasn't much underground in SG1 and SG2 had the subway.
A perfect example of such maps is 'Cave Map'
