Okay, who is this guy, and why did he make a thread called Team Light Silver? This is a thread for the mapmaking contest (obviously.) I am looking for a team to enter in the map, and this thread thoroughly plans out what we’ll do. Want to know if you can join? Read below.
NOTE: This topic will be moved to the Maps in Progress section as soon as it is started. Now, however, there isn't really a place for it, so I'll leave it here.
NOTE 2: I messed up the spoilers. Sorry about that. Can someone please tell me how to fix them?
Now that we have our team, it’s time to plan out the map we’re going to make. Submit your ideas to the thread! The ideas are listed below. Due to a time shortage, we're just going to go ahead with the idea below.
When the maps have all been submitted, we will do a Voting and choose a map idea. Then it will be time for building!

STEP ONE: TEAM RECRUITING
Before we start anything, I will need to do the foremost and most important step: building a team.
There will be eight roles on the team, and everyone who participates will get VIP if we win.
DIRECTOR: slot filled by gigaminiremo. Me. The director organizes everything, and will help with the building as well. Organizing everything has kind of already been planned out (see this thread), so it’s my job to enforce it. I’ll also be giving birth to hordes of ideas. (Everyone else can still contribute, of course! I’ll just be doing it like it’s my job.)
SERVER HOST: Want free VIP? Without doing anything? All you need to do is host our map for a server. You can still contribute if you wish, whether through MCEditing it or actively participating, but if you really don’t want to, all you need is to host a regular old Bukkit server with our world and WorldEdit. (We may want other world-building mods as well, eventually.) If we win, you’ll get VIP without doing anything (if you took the lazy way out.)
HEAD BUILDER: Coming up with tons of plans is nice and all, but how to actually carry them out? This is the Head Builder’s purpose. The Head Builder will plan out the foundations and order the other builders around for how to carry them out. The Head Builder will lay out every day’s plans in the thread, and everyone else should be expected to follow them! (Remember to include things to do if you finish what you’ve already done.)
REDSTONE EXPERT: I am godawful at redstone. I can’t do anything right with it. At all. The Redstone Expert will be all we need to make coded doors, tons of traps, and everything else we need!
WORLDEDIT EXPERT: Another thing I am godawful at is WorldEdit and other mods like it. The WorldEdit Expert could be the same as the Server Host, but if not would need some form of contact with them to exchange files. This is an optional role. When not WorldEditing, the WorldEdit expert will be a simple Manual Laborer. (Other roles can WorldEdit and this need not be a job.)
MANUAL LABORER: Currently held by DavKes and DeadStriker10. You can still apply, however. This simple role will do all of the manual, back-breaking labor. Set in creative, they’ll add the details to WorldEdited sculptures. There will be three of these, or more if another role is made useless. Obviously the backbone of the team. When other roles cannot do role-specific things, they’ll become a Laborer. Nobody but the Host is exempt from this.
PRESENTER: In addition to being a Manual Labor, the Presenter will come up with the rough draft of the presentation for the contest and present it in the thread, where we’ll all add our ideas. Then the presenter will accommodate the ideas into the Final Presentation, which will be submitted to the contest form. Note that the Presenter will be required to make videos of the map for the presentation, so a video recording software is nice (otherwise, just hack Bandicam to get rid of the white logo for a day.)
2.Must have at least five Minecraft Survival Games wins. Just a standard experience test. I want someone who’s played a fair share of Games.
3. NO SKYPE REQUIRED! This thread will be our main means of communication. With that in mind, you must be able to check the thread once per day.
4. Two hours per week of availability, minimum. For those of you who have trouble comprehending that, try 30 minutes on four days of the week. Obviously, though, if everyone only meets the bare minimum, we won’t win. So try to be on more than that.
5. Building experience. Preferably a lot of it. You’d better know how to terraform, and make mountains from scratch.
Server Host must be able to host a server 24/7.And make a world to our requirements (use a superflat preset generator, since it’ll probably be 96 blocks of air—64 blocks of stone (maybe some grass on top)—96 more blocks of air. I did that.
Redstone Expert must have lots of redstone experience. Will be required to build a simple contraption to prove their worth.
WorldEdit Expert must have skill in using mods like McEdit and WorldEdit to make maps.
Presenter must be willing to make a large presentation and make a video. You will be required to make a three-paragraph sample presentation that advertises the idea described below in order to get the job.
Manual Laborer must be willing to work, but also to offer ideas for the map. Please, I’d love to hear what you all think.
So, with no ado: The form you need to fill out to join.

General Requirements
1. Maturity; must be able to spell. Seriously, it’s a good sign of maturity if you type everything out. STEP TWO: MAP PLANNING
MAP PLAN
The Wheel of Life: OC: Gigaminiremo (Ember):
CORNUCOPIA: A massive, wooden tower with the Cornucopia at its peak lies in the middle. I was thinking the tower would only be a frame, with a spiral staircase going down and four main supports. Each floor of stairs would have a line of wood blocks at the bottom, and they would be on the walls with little squares around each square. The safest way down would be the waterfalls. Tower could be 20x20 or something like that. Since the waterfalls and stairs are the only way up the 96-block climb to the Cornucopia, bow battles just before refills are going to make things very interesting. (Because of the fragile nature of the tower, the cornucopia unfortunately will not support piston-based starting platforms.
Massive waterfalls tower down to the bottom through holes in the base, which is a small obsidian platform surrounded by seas of lava. Approximately at the middle of the tower sits a large circular plane, surrounded by a glass sphere. (The sphere should close around the edges of the plane, and at the top and bottom of the map. Its bottom should also be covered in lava to prevent people from…you know. I would think the plane would be 64 blocks from bottom to top, starting at y=160 and going down to y-96.) This plane has sixteen spokes, each a clear line from the tower to the edge of the arena. Between each spokes lies a particular environment. Ideas for environments include (there’s a lot):
Jungle: A nice, wild place with towering trees and vines everywhere. Could have a creeper spawner hidden away somewhere.
Swamp: A large, marshy area full of water. And lily pads. And vines.
Ocean: A sea of water with a glass city below. There is a single island. (Perhaps it could have a dispenser with a Respiration helmet to allow you into the glass city…)
Warm Forest: A regular forest, with trees small and tall.
Snowy Forest: An ice-cold forest. Crawling with wolves and covered in snow, with a large Christmas tree at the center.
Ancient Labyrinth: An underground stone ruin that is a natural maze. Full of redstone traps.
Cavern: A stone bed covered in cavern entrances which lead to a complex cavern system.
Snowy Wasteland: A frozen, nearly flat tundra with several frozen lakes.
Sea of Clouds: A land where clouds tower up from the ground into the sky.
Palace: A massive marble palace that reaches into the sky. It has many rooms, and is build grandly.
Small Town: A small farming town on the winds of a plain grassland. Many farm animals inhabit it, as well as villagers. (There are dispensers to earn emeralds.)
Thick Forest: A forest so covered in trees that it is a maze to get through them…or at the very least requires a lot of leaf-shearing.
Ruined Town: A town rotting in its own filth. In a major state of disrepair and brokenness.
Lands of Darkness: An area with a roof, leaving the inside pitch-black and full of monster spawners. Large, craggy mountains reach into the roof, and fear roams.
Hell: A series of islands and bridges over a sea of lava. Two cannons are located on opposing islands, though most parts of them have been blown to smithereens.
Mysterious Ruins: Huge obsidian ruins that seem to serve no purpose. Some areas are outdoors, and some are indoors.
Run-down Prison: A large iron prison full of cells and broken hope.
Lost Desert: A large, desert with some parts mountainous and flat. Several pyramids dot the landscape, but it is considerably hard to find supplies here.
Mountains of Death: Huge mountains and small mountains alike. Tunnels through them are large and these mountains are notoriously hard to climb, with snowy peaks.
Additionally, there would be shrines in each area. Shrines would be small statues that wind downwards to the bottom. Each shrine would have its own particular traps and one Question that kills you if you get it incorrect. At the bottom, each shrine’s Heart, made of crystals, would contain three chests. (It would be nice if these Shrines would have their own tier of useful supplies, or at the very least be the only tier 2 chests in the map.) Shrines all have a beacon to make them easy to find and are in the middle of their section. (Remember, each section is pie-shaped.)
Other map suggestions will be taken, but make them as well thought-out as this one, please.

STEP THREE: THE BUILDING
Head Builder’s time to shine! Once the Host has their server up, we’ll start building. The Head Builder will plan it all, so I won’t go into detail here. Taking into account time zones, the Builder will post in the thread with a plan reading what we’ll do that day. Then we will work. And work. And work.
STEP FOUR: THE PRESENTATION
Five days before the deadline, when we’re hopefully nearly done, the Presenter will begin building the presentation . It will include a video trailer, should have a backstory or a wordy dialogue, and just be fun in general! We will help. Three days before the deadline, a rough draft should be posted in the thread. We’ll submit it just before the deadline.
If everything goes wrong, and our presentation falls through, or we don’t make the deadline, we will still submit it as a regular map.

There ya have it! That certainly didn't take an hour to type up .-. We are currently on step ONE of the four-step process.
