Hey everyone! Fushi here, with the Art Section's first guide!
Here's some tips for getting a successful art thread. It's not very long, but it doesn't need to be!
• Title-
You must have a good title! It should sum up what you do in less than eight words. It can be simple, like "Fushi's Graphic Design," or more complex like "Fushisushi- Avatars and beyond." It doesn't have to clarify what specific things you make, just a general category like Avatars.
• Price-
I would definitely recommend starting with free avatars. Once/if you become popular, I would recommend setting up a website with http://www.webs.com, http://www.weebly.com, or http://www.wix.com.
• Display/gallery-
You should definitely include up to ten examples of what your artwork looks like, or it's likely nobody will want any. I would recommend using a spoiler box to hide what they look like (to save space).
• Gradients (for avatars)-
This is really simple. Please, please, please don't over-use gradients if you're making avatars. It's the easy way out, and will attract you much less customers/requesters.
• Queue-
If you're taking requests, be sure to add a queue with a list of everyone you're making an avatar for. It makes it much more organized.
• Text-
You should probably make your text colored with a dark color so that mobile users can view it properly. Just a suggestion, it doesn't need to be.
• Speedpaints-
Only post speedpaints if you've got a good screen recorder, and you know how to crop the video screen. It looks extremely unprofessional to see somebody's entire screen in a speedpaint video. Also, make sure you can record in HD Quality (720 or 1080p).
That's just about it! Thanks for reading, and good luck!
