Minecraft already can show the durability of items when you hover over them. Using a mod that shows it with out having to hover over it (providing that's ALL it does) should be fine

Seeing as it isn't a game altering mod that gives you an advantage over others, and since you can do the same with the normal minecraft jar just makes it easier, I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed. But don't quote me on this
