Mods and Misunderstandings

If i download mods such as reis minimap and damage indicator for single-player and other survival servers, how can still play survival games. can i turn the mods off, disable them. how does this work? and how can i and it work. i know that any mod other than optifine is not allowed in the games.

You can rename the old .jar file to something else and just change between them when you're going to play MCSG.

You should be able to turn off those mods.

You can disable Rei's minimap, press M and go disable though I recommend removing them completely.

Like it was mentioned before, just change your minecraft.jar. This will be made easier when 1.6 comes out, a new launcher is being released that will allow you to easily change jars.

This is my answer to everything.

It would be best if you used something to easily switch from unmodified to modified clients, such as:

Magic Launcher
or
MultiMC

You can also use these to install Optifine and single player mods very easily..

Optifine doesn't need anything, its just all about switching files and adding them into .jar's

But some people have no idea how to actually install some mods, and MultiMC and MagicLauncher are very easy to use.
