So, I'm interested in building my own gaming computer, but I'm stupid and don't know any good parts to put together, all I could do is get the most expensive of everything and then have an overpriced computer which is 100% overkill. :p

Regardless, I know alot of people here have a lot of experience in tech and all that, so my question is. Could anyone suggest me some good parts for a computer, around (Can go higher) $1000? I want this to be a good gaming rig, which can preferably run Minecraft at very high FPS, enough for me to record high quality videos, render them fast. And be able to play any other games with high graphics? c:

Thanks!

K look hears the thing. First off. Find someone near by you to talk to who knows more then you if you don't know much when you build it so he can help.

Building yourself can be tricky if you don't know what your doing. You need to find the correct case and mother board that fits.

you need a graphics card that fits in the case too, and a power supply with enough watts to power your graphics card.

youll need hard drives. The solid state vs normal hard drive is a personal preference. Get enough HD space so your comfortable with how much you have. You don't want too little but too much can be a wast of money.

there is so much that goes into building a computer that its better to see if you have a friend/relative to help you along the way especially with building if you don't know how.

its pretty much your own preference of what you want but if you have any questions like about graphics cards or whatever ill be happy to help and ill keep this thread watched.

are you going to be playing other games besides minecraft or just minecraft. If your just going to play minecraft you don't need massive power.
For example: I livestream minecraft at 360p on twitch. Normally I can run max settings with 60-80fps. But when I livestream I can stream on fast graphics and normal render distance. At 25-30+fps (my computer isn't the greatest but I am a huge geek lol)

Also if your only going to record minecraft that doesn't require too much from your computer (live streaming requires more than just recording) so if you can run minecraft at say 200fps max settings then you'll be able to record with max settings at at least 60fps probably more (I just guessed :p) please ask any questions you feel nessesary. Ill be happy to help.

Alright, thanks for the answer. I have a friend who built his own computer and he can help me, so building isn't the issue, the parts are. Right now my computer runs at 100 FPS on medium settings, I want a computer that can record at around 200 FPS with good settings.

But yes, I want my computer to be able to basically be a good gaming computer able to record any games on a high FPS with maximum settings, and able to render it easily. So uh, yeah. c:

lets talk graphics cards first for there more important for good fps
your going to want a GeForce GTX 600 series like. GeForce GTX 670 or 680 the bigger the number the better
or a Radeon HD 7000 series. Like the Radeon HD 7970 once again the bigger the number the better 99% of the time.

these all run for a few hundred
if your really want to spend the cash get the GeForce Titan it's probably the best graphics card on the market today but its $1000 alone XD and for mostly minecraft lol you don't need that

you can check this out for a list of really good graphics cards and there price roughly.

if you get one with a benchmark above 4000 that should be enough but if I were to recommend One I'd choose one of the ones I suggested above (GeForce GTX 670 or 680 or Radeon 7970) it's almost midnight here lol so I may not post again tonight idk we can talk more tomorrow or we can chat a little in a Skype call sometime if you want.

EDIT: also being able to record most any game on max settings requires quite a powerful rig but you'll be able to record almost everything with the rig your going to build but not nessisairly every game maxed out you know what I mean lol

Haha, my friend has 2 Titans in his computer, I told him it was overkill, he didn't listen. :c

I was thinking GTX 680, that'd get me what I needed. But it's like $400. :S

lol 2 titans that's like a god computer and is too much if all your using it for is gaming but whatever.

getting a GeForce vs a Radeon is more of a preference then anything.

A 670 isn't much worse and is like $50 cheaper if u want to go that route. Get a few graphics cards in mind and compare then on a site like newegg.com or geeks.com and also check the comments on each and see what they say about them if its good or bad or whatever. That's not a bad idea to do. Also start building a shopping cart if you want to keep track of everything
