I find block hitting in confined spaces a useless strategy as many players will lay down flint and steel or just strafe you so you lose them, meaning you need to un-block and take a few extra hits. You're much slower, I dun like it.

If its in a confined space its nearly impossable to strafe and if they put flint and steal its impossable to fight without burning, so you will have to snipe to be safe.

Has anyone been able to put out fire because on sg4 I pit a fire from flint and steal o_O

It's not impossible.
Trust me.
Take something like .. the double chest house in map four, thats fairly confined and easily strafable.
If you know what you're doing with it, F & S ing it shouldn't be to hard. It's been done.. a fair bit.

I have gotton so many kills in that house.

Im talking about places like the sewers on sg4 which is where it is best to block hit because you will probably fall into the water and they will try to snipe you. But if you block hit you will block the arrows and hit them at the same time.

I find it better to shoot a person with a bow and arrow twice once or twice first; the best thing to do is to run away and lead them into a narrow area where it will be difficult to miss. You can get a few shots on them, rush them and make sure they don't get away. Usually when people do, their hearts are low and a simple bow shot will finish them up. I once had leather armour, a stone axe and a butt-ton of arrows. Other guy had full iron and dia sword. You'd be surprised what the power of strategizing with a bow does :p

If you were in a confined space or in water, because in water it is INCREDIBLY easy to shoot someone who is almost stationary.
I'm considered a pro... I miss all of my shots when someone's underwater...

Do I win? C:

Water, you have 6 ways of moving so water is better for me ONLy probably

Plus if you block, arrows only deal half a heart..
50% damage reduced only
And mr mad you forgot about cirts
I made a thread on it

Don't worry about professionals or veterans. They may have better tactics and experience, but all you need is a strategy to deflect them. I have always ran away to a corner of the map since there are loads of chests that people will never really get. However, I realized it's best to not go for them, and go for the more 'visible' chests instead. As I can kill more peeps, and actually get good gear.

Blocking and block hitting have always been so controversial...

Personally, if I know I'm going to be hit by an arrow and I cannot do anything about it, (for example of someone shot an arrow from a short distance and I don't have time to get out of the way.) I'll block it...Usually, I'll have blocked and unblocked by the time I'm back on the ground and it'll have hardly slowed me down... (aside from "breaking" my sprint.) but that's about the most of my blocking. Even when in confined spaces, I don't block hit. I always focus on getting away from the opponent if at all possible and coming back for a fight in a more favorable place. (I almost never get myself into a confined space anyway...Only very early in a game or on a new map do I bother, and that's because of the low number of people with weapons, and the ones that do that are near me are generally obvious/I'll know they do by watching them a bit.)

Honestly, I've yet to see anybody who was "good" at block hitting anywhere but confined spaces. I really don't see the point. :/
